Explore the inside of the “Devils Eye Arch” Katoomba and amazing cave-like formation just a couple of minutes from Cliff Drive.

Devils Eye Arch, Katoomba

ACCESS: Park here on cliff drive: https://w3w.co/maintenance.lying.coffees It’s only a short walk, but it’s pretty rough in patches. Just keep walking straight ahead and when you get to what you think is the bottom, push on to the big rock outcrop. It’s not suitable for little ones.

If you go right, it takes you to a rocky slope and then down to a lookout that has a huge drop. Take care.

The left track gets a bit steep pretty quickly so take it easy. After a short distance, you can turn right and walk along the rock ledge for a great view OR tack the left track down to a great cave.

Cath Rendell researched this location and found this “The arch was named by Erik Halbert and Ross Ellis called it the Poker Hand. A feature within the arch looks like the skeletal remains of a rather long five-fingered hand.”
