The Ask Roz Blue Mountains’ Photographer of the week is Deborah McGrath
Deborah says:- As a photographer, I love to be able to share my world with you through the lens of my camera one click at a time. Living in a rural setting, my images predominately feature the landscape, towns, villages and events in the Lithgow region.
My love of photography began in High School, back in the days of film and SLR’s. This was a great way to learn as you had to make every image count. However, I am fascinated with the way photography is evolving with modern technology and am a firm believer in the adage “The best camera is the one you have with you at the time”. If I don’t have my Sony a77ii with me, I definitely have my iPhone 5s. Although, more and more I find myself shooting in both mediums when I am out and about.
My second passion is digital art. I love the ability to take multiple images and turn them into incredible artworks. I have recently begun to create personalised gifts and cards from images with names on them. This interest started as a present for a friend who always complained that she could never find her name among the name plaques in newsagents; so, I made her a card.
